Reports
Staff Dog provides five distinct reports that let you analyse your team from different angles — from daily attendance tracking to monthly performance analysis.
Report Types
Daily Report
Clock-in/out details for the whole team, absentees, late arrivals and KPI cards for the selected day. Downloadable as XLSX.
Monthly Report
Team-wide working hours, productivity charts and most-used apps/sites for the selected month. XLSX download supported.
Personnel Report
Per-employee monthly performance summary: each person's regular time, overtime and attendance stats in a single table.
Session Notes
Lists sessions that include notes, grouped by day. Both managers and employees can access their own notes.
AFK Reason Report
Shows break/meeting/lunch/call durations on a monthly basis, either per person or for the whole team.
How to Use the Daily Report
Select the Date
Go to Reports › Daily Report in the left menu. Use the date picker at the top of the page to choose the day you want to examine, or step forward/back with the arrow buttons. The 'Today' button jumps straight to today's report.
Review the KPI Cards
Four KPI cards appear at the top of the page: employees present, employees absent, total session count and late arrivals. These give you an instant snapshot of the day.
Check the Alert Blocks
Late arrivals and absentees are highlighted in separate coloured boxes. Click any employee's name to open their Employee Detail page.
Filter the Table and Download
Use the name filter to search for a specific person. Click the Download button in the top-right of the table to save the report as an XLSX file.
Automatic Report Delivery
Staff Dog can automatically email reports on the schedule you define. Configure this feature from Reports › Send Report in the left menu.
Delivery Frequency
Can be set to daily, weekly or monthly. For weekly delivery you choose the day of the week; for monthly delivery you choose the day of the month.
Recipient List
Enter the email addresses to receive the report. External addresses (such as an accountant) are also supported.
If you need to send the report immediately without waiting for the schedule, use the Send Now button. This is especially useful during month-end closings when you need to share data quickly.
Automated Weekly Report Every Monday
Finance Director Richard wants to see the previous week's work summary every Monday morning. During setup he opens the Send Report page: he selects "Weekly" as the frequency, "Monday" as the day, and "08:00" as the send time. He adds his own email and the HR manager's address to the recipient list.
Every Monday at 8 AM Richard's inbox receives an automated report summarising the team's total hours, the employees with the most AFK time, and the most-used applications across the organisation.
At month-end Richard can manually hit Send Now to share an instant report with his accountant as well — no need to schedule a separate export.
AFK Reason Report
From the AFK Reasons section of an employee's profile (or via Reports › AFK Report) you can view the monthly AFK breakdown per person. The report shows the following categories:
Break
Total time and ratio
Meeting
Total time and ratio
Lunch
Total time and ratio
Client Call
Total time and ratio
This report is particularly useful for making visible how much time employees spend in meetings, or for spotting patterns of long recurring breaks.
⚠️Frequently Asked Questions
- •Daily report shows an employee as absent but they came in: If they didn't open the desktop app that day, the system counts them as absent. Fix it by adding a manual time entry.
- •Monthly report download isn't working: XLSX generation can take a moment for large data sets. Keep the page open and wait for the download to complete.
- •Automated email not arriving: Double-check that the email address is entered correctly. Also check your spam or junk folder, as automated report emails can occasionally be filtered.
